Indian Customers Visit Weissenberg for Plastic Sheet Welding, Rolling, and Bending Machine Evaluation

Customer Requirements and Application Scope

Last weekend, Weissenberg welcomed customers from India to our factory for an on-site evaluation of plastic sheet fabrication solutions, covering butt welding, rolling, and bending processes for environmental treatment equipment.

At the beginning of the visit, the customers clearly outlined their production requirements. Their application involved plastic sheet thicknesses ranging from 3 to 20 mm, with a maximum sheet length of up to 3 meters. The fabrication process required not only butt welding, but also bending and rolling operations for wastewater and exhaust gas treatment equipment, including both cylindrical and rectangular structures.

Key Technical Challenge: Small Rolling Diameter

A key technical requirement highlighted during the discussion was the minimum rolling diameter of 250 mm. Further clarification showed that, to achieve this minimum diameter, the actual working condition involved 3 mm-thick sheets with a length of approximately 1.5 meters. This requirement placed high demands on welding stability and dimensional control before forming.

From an engineering perspective, smaller rolling diameters are more difficult to achieve, as they require a lower machine crossbeam height to maintain proper sheet positioning and deformation control.

Machine Configuration and On-Site Verification

Based on these constraints, the Weissenberg technical team recommended a suitable solution from our 
plastic sheet butt welder range machine, and carried out on-site test welding to verify its performance when working with thin sheets and its suitability for subsequent rolling operations.

Considering the customer’s requirement for maximum sheet lengths of up to 3 meters, Weissenberg also presented a 3-meter plastic sheet butt welding machine and a 3-meter plastic sheet bending machine. In addition, our team demonstrated the rolling assistance equipment, allowing the customers to clearly understand the forming process after welding and the overall workflow of welding, rolling, and bending.

Through practical demonstrations and technical discussions, the customers gained a comprehensive understanding of the complete fabrication process and equipment configuration, ensuring full alignment with real production conditions.
