From First Order to a Broader Fabrication Workshop: Indonesian Customer Expands with Weissenberg
Since becoming a Weissenberg customer in 2025, an Indonesian plastic
fabricator has continued expanding its thermoplastic fabrication capability through
repeat equipment purchases.
The workshop now uses equipment covering several stages of plastic fabrication,
including a WeiBond 3000 plastic sheet butt welder,
CNC routing equipment, extrusion welding tools, hot-air equipment and
various Weldy accessories.
In the latest expansion in October 2026, the customer selected a
WeiBond 1500M manual plastic sheet butt welder for a new application:
producing thermoplastic ventilation duct sections with a diameter of approximately
Ø250 mm.
Before delivery, Weissenberg also carried out a forming test to verify the
approximately Ø250 mm diameter required for the customer's duct fabrication work.

A Customer Relationship Built Through Repeat Use
This Indonesian project is different from a one-time machine delivery.
The cooperation began in 2025 and gradually expanded across several different
thermoplastic fabrication processes. Earlier purchases included plastic welding tools,
followed by large-format sheet butt welding equipment and later CNC routing equipment.
As new production requirements developed, the customer continued adding equipment
for different stages of the fabrication workflow rather than purchasing an entire
workshop configuration at one time.
With a maximum working width of 3,000 mm, the WeiBond 3000
provides a dedicated platform for large-format thermoplastic sheet joining.
For PE, PP and PVDF sheet, the machine is specified for welding thicknesses
from 3 to 40 mm.
This gave the customer's workshop a controlled process for long sheet butt welds,
while handheld extrusion and hot-air tools remained available for detail work
and other fabrication tasks.
WeiBond 3000 added to the Indonesian customer's workshop for large-format
thermoplastic sheet butt welding.
Customer Feedback After Using WeiBond 3000
After using the WeiBond 3000, the Indonesian customer reported that the
machine was intuitive and easy to operate, helping operators become familiar
with the sheet welding process quickly.
Stage 2: Expanding into CNC Sheet Preparation
The next major addition was CNC routing equipment for cutting, trimming and
preparing thermoplastic sheet components.
Accurate sheet preparation is closely connected with the fabrication process.
Before welding or forming, the sheet dimensions and mating edges need to match
the intended component geometry.
Adding CNC routing therefore expanded the workshop beyond welding alone.
It gave the customer another controlled process for preparing plastic components
before subsequent forming, assembly and welding operations.
CNC routing equipment added as the customer's thermoplastic fabrication
capability expanded beyond welding.
Stage 3: Extrusion Welding, Hot-Air Tools and Weldy Accessories
Large-format sheet butt welding is only one part of a thermoplastic fabrication workflow.
Fabricated components may also contain corners, attachments, reinforcements,
local joints and other areas where a large sheet butt welding machine is not
the appropriate tool.
The customer therefore continued purchasing extrusion welding equipment,
hot air guns and various Weldy accessories for these additional workshop tasks.
These tools complement the larger machines rather than replacing them.
The sheet butt welder handles suitable long sheet seams, while extrusion welding
and hot-air tools provide flexibility for localized fabrication and assembly work.
Extrusion welding, hot-air equipment and Weldy accessories complement
the customer's larger sheet fabrication machines.
Latest Requirement: Ø250 mm Ventilation Duct Fabrication
In October 2026, the customer returned with another production requirement:
fabricating thermoplastic ventilation duct sections with a diameter of approximately
250 mm.
Although the workshop already operates a 3-meter WeiBond 3000 for larger sheet work,
the new application involved significantly smaller components.
The customer therefore selected a
WeiBond 1500M Manual Plastic Sheet Butt Welder
as a more appropriately scaled machine for this type of fabrication.
This illustrates an important equipment-selection principle:
the largest machine is not automatically the best machine for every fabrication task.
Component dimensions, handling requirements, working width and intended geometry
all need to be considered when selecting a plastic sheet welding machine.
WeiBond 1500M completed for the Indonesian customer's small-format
thermoplastic fabrication requirement.
Factory Test for the Customer's Ø250 mm Duct Requirement
Because the latest project involved a specific small-diameter duct requirement,
Weissenberg carried out a forming test before delivery.
The test demonstrated an approximately Ø250 mm rolled diameter,
providing a direct check against the customer's intended ventilation duct application.
This type of application test is useful when machine selection depends not only
on general specifications, but also on the geometry of the finished component.

Why Add a WeiBond 1500M When the Workshop Already Has a WeiBond 3000?
At first glance, adding another sheet butt welder may appear to duplicate equipment.
In practice, the WeiBond 3000 and WeiBond 1500M serve different workpiece scales
and workshop requirements.
WeiBond 3000
Up to 3,000 mm working width
Designed for larger thermoplastic sheets
Suitable for long sheet butt welds
3–40 mm PE, PP and PVDF welding range
Used as the customer's main large-format sheet welding platform
WeiBond 1500M
Manual sheet butt welding configuration
Better matched to smaller workpieces
More appropriately scaled for localized workshop fabrication
Selected for the customer's approx. Ø250 mm ventilation duct requirement
Supported by an application-specific factory forming test
The comparison shows why machine selection should not be based only on maximum
working width. A workshop producing components of very different sizes may benefit
from using different machines for large-format and small-format work.
How the Equipment Supports Thermoplastic Ventilation Duct Fabrication

Learn More About Plastic Ventilation Duct Fabrication
Thermoplastic duct manufacturing often combines sheet cutting, forming,
butt welding and extrusion welding rather than relying on one process alone.
One Customer, Multiple Thermoplastic Fabrication Processes
Looking at the customer's purchases together provides a clearer picture than
viewing each order separately.
The workshop has gradually developed capabilities covering:
large-format plastic sheet butt welding;
small-format sheet butt welding;
CNC sheet cutting and preparation;
extrusion welding;
hot-air fabrication;
Weldy tools and accessories.
Each new purchase has addressed a different part of the fabrication process
as the customer's production requirements have expanded.
What the Repeat Orders Show
The most important part of this case is not simply the number of machines purchased.
Since the first cooperation in 2025, the customer has continued adding equipment
across multiple product categories after gaining practical experience with the
previously supplied machines and tools.
The purchasing pattern has developed from welding tools into large-format sheet
welding, CNC preparation, detail welding, hot-air equipment and now a dedicated
WeiBond 1500M for smaller ventilation duct components.
This reflects a workshop that is developing its fabrication capability step by step,
matching new equipment to actual production requirements as they emerge.
Key Takeaways
The Indonesian customer has worked with Weissenberg since 2025 and has
continued purchasing across multiple equipment categories.
The workshop uses a WeiBond 3000 for large-format thermoplastic sheet butt welding.
CNC routing, extrusion welding and hot-air equipment support additional stages
of the plastic fabrication workflow.
The latest machine is a WeiBond 1500M manual sheet butt welder.
The latest production requirement is approximately
Ø250 mm thermoplastic ventilation duct fabrication.
A factory test demonstrated an approximately Ø250 mm rolled diameter
before delivery.
Large and small sheet welders can complement each other when a workshop
produces components with very different dimensions.
Machine selection should be based on actual component geometry and production
requirements, not maximum machine size alone.
