From IFAT 2026 to Shipment: WeiBond 4000 & EasyCut 4000 for Norway

A conversation that began during IFAT Munich 2026 has developed into a completed thermoplastic fabrication equipment project for Norway.
After the exhibition, the Norwegian customer continued technical discussions with Weissenberg and ultimately selected two complementary large-format machines: a WeiBond 4000 plastic sheet butt welder and an EasyCut 4000 plastic sheet cutting machine.
Both machines have now been completed and shipped to Norway, giving the customer matched 4-meter cutting and welding capacity for two fundamental stages of thermoplastic sheet fabrication: sheet preparation and sheet joining.

From IFAT Munich 2026 to a Confirmed Equipment Project
The project began with face-to-face communication during IFAT Munich 2026.
For Weissenberg, IFAT provided an opportunity to meet manufacturers and plastic fabricators directly and discuss how thermoplastic sheet processing equipment fits into real production environments.
One of those conversations developed into this Norwegian project.
The customer did not make an immediate equipment decision during the exhibition. After IFAT, technical discussions continued around machine size, process requirements and how cutting and welding equipment could be configured together.
The final decision was not for a standalone machine. The customer selected both cutting and welding equipment in the same 4-meter size class, creating a more connected large-format sheet fabrication workflow.
The Requirement: Cutting and Welding Capacity in the Same 4m Class
A plastic sheet butt welding machine performs the joining stage of fabrication, but welding is only one part of the overall workflow.
Before thermoplastic sheets are welded, the material first needs to be cut and prepared to the dimensions required by the fabricated component.
For this project, the Norwegian customer therefore selected two complementary machine types rather than focusing only on the welding stage.
4m Sheet Cutting
EasyCut 4000 provides dedicated capacity for sizing and preparing large-format plastic sheets before subsequent fabrication.
4m Sheet Butt Welding
WeiBond 4000 provides a dedicated platform for joining thermoplastic sheets across a maximum working width of 4,000 mm.
Matched Working Capacity
Selecting both machines in the 4-meter class keeps the cutting and welding stages aligned for large-format sheet processing.
WeiBond 4000 for Large-Format Plastic Sheet Butt Welding
For the welding stage, the customer selected the WeiBond 4000 plastic sheet butt welder .
The machine provides a maximum working width of 4,000 mm and is designed for large-format thermoplastic sheet fabrication.
For PE, PP and PVDF sheet, the WeiBond 4000 supports welding thicknesses from 3 to 40 mm, allowing the machine to cover a broad range of industrial sheet fabrication requirements.
For workshops processing long plastic sheets, working width is an important equipment-selection parameter because it determines the maximum seam length that can be handled within the machine's working area.
EasyCut 4000 for Large-Format Sheet Preparation
To complement the 4-meter welding capacity, the customer also selected the EasyCut 4000 plastic sheet cutting machine .
The EasyCut 4000 provides a maximum cutting length of 4,000 mm and supports plastic sheets up to 50 mm thick.
With positioning accuracy specified at ±0.1 mm, the machine provides a dedicated process for accurately sizing and preparing large-format thermoplastic sheets before welding or further fabrication.
EasyCut 4000 is designed for thermoplastic sheet materials including PP, PE and PVC.
For the Norwegian project, selecting EasyCut 4000 alongside WeiBond 4000 means that both the preparation and welding stages operate within the same 4-meter processing class.
Why WeiBond 4000 and EasyCut 4000 Work as a Matched Workflow
The main value of this project lies in the relationship between the two machines.
WeiBond 4000 and EasyCut 4000 perform different operations, but both contribute to the same large-format thermoplastic sheet fabrication process.
| Fabrication Stage | Equipment | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Sheet sizing | EasyCut 4000 | Cuts large thermoplastic sheets to the required dimensions |
| Sheet preparation | EasyCut 4000 | Provides controlled preparation before subsequent fabrication |
| Large-format sheet joining | WeiBond 4000 | Butt welds thermoplastic sheets across up to 4,000 mm working width |
| Overall workshop capacity | EasyCut 4000 + WeiBond 4000 | Creates matched 4-meter cutting and welding capability |
Matching the machine size to the complete production workflow can be more useful than evaluating each machine independently.
If a workshop can weld 4-meter sheets but does not have corresponding preparation capacity, the overall process may still be limited by another production stage.
In this project, the customer selected both machines around the same large-format processing requirement.
WeiBond 4000 and EasyCut 4000: Two Machines, Two Different Roles
WeiBond 4000
- Maximum working width: 4,000 mm
- Dedicated plastic sheet butt welding
- PE / PP / PVDF welding range: 3–40 mm
- Designed for large-format thermoplastic sheet joining
EasyCut 4000
- Maximum cutting length: 4,000 mm
- Maximum cutting thickness: 50 mm
- Positioning accuracy: ±0.1 mm
- Designed for PP, PE and PVC sheet cutting
The two machines are therefore complementary rather than interchangeable. EasyCut 4000 prepares the material, while WeiBond 4000 performs the butt-welding stage.
Why Matching Cutting and Welding Width Matters
When manufacturers plan a plastic sheet fabrication workshop, it is easy to focus first on the maximum capacity of the welding machine.
In practice, the entire workflow should be considered.
Cutting length, welding width, sheet thickness, material type and component dimensions all influence which machine combination is appropriate.
For a Large-Format Sheet Project, Consider:
- maximum incoming sheet dimensions;
- required cutting length;
- required welding width;
- sheet material;
- maximum and minimum sheet thickness;
- component geometry;
- expected production workflow.
The Norwegian project followed this broader approach by selecting both the cutting and welding stages around a 4-meter working requirement.
Factory Production and Pre-Shipment Preparation
After the configuration was confirmed, the WeiBond 4000 and EasyCut 4000 entered production as part of the same Norwegian equipment project.
Before shipment, both machines were completed and checked at the Weissenberg factory to verify the ordered configuration and operating functions.

Shipment to Norway
With factory preparation completed, the WeiBond 4000 and EasyCut 4000 were prepared for international transport and shipped to Norway.
The shipment completes a project that began with an in-person discussion at IFAT Munich 2026 and developed through post-exhibition technical evaluation into a two-machine large-format fabrication configuration.
Project Result
The Norwegian project developed from an initial IFAT 2026 conversation into a complete large-format thermoplastic sheet processing package.
The final configuration combines:
- an EasyCut 4000 with 4,000 mm cutting length for large-format sheet preparation;
- a WeiBond 4000 with 4,000 mm working width for plastic sheet butt welding;
- matched cutting and welding capacity within the same workshop workflow;
- two dedicated machines selected for complementary fabrication processes;
- completed factory preparation and shipment to Norway.
What This Project Means for Other Plastic Fabricators
This project shows why a thermoplastic fabrication workshop should not evaluate a welding machine in isolation.
A high-capacity welder can only form one part of the production process. The material still needs to be cut, prepared, positioned and handled before the welding stage begins.
For workshops processing large sheets, selecting cutting and welding equipment with compatible working dimensions can create a more coherent fabrication flow.
In the Norwegian project, that logic is straightforward: 4-meter cutting capacity with EasyCut 4000 matched to 4-meter welding capacity with WeiBond 4000.
